Shell Canada Funding for Water Festival


Shell Canada presented a $5000 cheque to the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences in support of the Eastern Ontario Children's Water Festival. Rotary Adventures in the Environment, Sept. 14-17


Seven high school students from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and Northern New York enjoyed 3 busy days of sampling fish and invertebrates, lab work, hiking, and caving during the 2009 Rotary Adventures in the Environment. Sponsored and hosted by the Cornwall Sunrise Rotary Club, and led by the River Institute, these students were introduced to a variety of topics in Environmental Science.

OPG Executives visit the River Institute


On July 8, a delegation of 22 executives and colleagues from OPG joined Minister of Natural Resources for Ontario, Donna Cansfield for a visit and tour of the River Institute. This visit coincided with the OPG opening of the new eel ladder extension.
