Eastern Ontario Children's Water Festival

Two of the three 2005 editions of the Eastern Ontario Children’s Water Festival took place in May – the French festival took place at Collège d’Alfred on May 4, 5 & 6, 2005 and the English festival took place at Baxter Conservation Area in Kars, Ontario on May 17 18 & 19, 2005. Both Water Festivals were well attended by elementary students who splashed their way to a better understanding of the importance and fragility of our water resources. Our high school student volunteers, from L’École secondaire catholique de Casselman at the Alfred Festival, and the students from Fisher Park Public School, Summit Alternative and St. Paul’s Catholic High School in Ottawa at the Baxter Festival, did a great job presenting over 25 hands-on activities that covered 5 themes: Water Protection, Water Conservation, Water Attitudes, Water Science and Water Technology.
Another edition of the Eastern Ontario Children's Water Festival will take place on October 12, 13 & 14, 2005 at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, Ontario. Come out to visit the Water Festival or to help present an activity! Click here for more information.
