Cornwall to Host International Water Association Conference

The St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences has announced that Cornwall has been selected as host city for the 7th International Water Association (IWA) conference. The event takes place from October 2 - 7 and the theme is Speciality Symposium on Off-Flavours in the Aquatic Environment. Over 100 delegates are expected to attend the conference which will pump close to $90,000 into the local economy.

Help Keep our Waterfront Beautiful - G.R.A.B. a Bag!

The St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences and the Cornwall & District Environment Committee, in partnership with the City of Cornwall, are leading an initiative to help keep Cornwall’s waterfront litter-free and beautiful. The project, known as the Cornwall Waterfront G.R.A.B. (Garbage Removal for Area Beautification), was launched last spring and is continuing throughout fall 2005. The project will have an immediate positive impact on the health and beauty of our waterfront.
