North Dundas District High School entered two teams into the competition and ended up winning first and second place! Cornwall Collegiate Vocational School’s team won a very close third place.
S.D.&G. Envirothon is organized by the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences with support from the S.D.&G. Resource Stewardship Council, and the Ontario Forestry Association, among others. It is a hands-on, environmental education program for high school students designed to complement the Ontario school curriculum while promoting teamwork, problem solving skills, and general environmental knowledge.
Participants of Envirothon were able to increase their environmental expertise by attending regional workshops held throughout the 2005-2006 school year. Workshops were presented by local experts on topics including forestry, soils, wildlife and aquatics. Read the full release
