Eastern Ontario Children's Water Festival

On October 11 – 13, more than 800 students spent a day at Upper Canada Village splashing through 26 water stations involving hands-on water activities, demonstrations, and games that are linked to the grade 4 science curriculum. Each demonstration station was supervised by volunteers including senior students from local high schools (Ecole Secondaire Catholique La Citadelle, Ecole Secondaire Catholique Regionale de Hawkesbury, Ecole secondaire publique L’Heritage), students from the Environmental Technician Program at St. Lawrence College, and other community volunteers.
The Eastern Ontario Children’s Water Festival is a fun, interactive, and educational program that teaches young people specific messages about water resources and water conservation. The program is free to participating schools thanks to the support of the Eastern Ontario Water Resources Committee (EOWRC), Ontario Power Generation, TransCanada Pipeline, and the SDG Stewardship Council.
