Visit from TD Canada Trust

Leigh MacDonald (right), Branch manager of TD Canada Trust, and her District Vice President, Emily Manolakos, visited the River Institute on January 22, 2007. They observed a special session with East Front Public School students Taylor Bird and Timothy Nemet, who were participating in a "Special Students" session with Dr. Brian Hickey. As part of Dr. Hickey’s ongoing research on mercury contamination in the aquatic ecosystem, these students helped to disinfect lab instruments, weigh insect samples, and prepare the samples for analysis. The Special Students program provides interactive workshops for enriched or challenged students that are tailored to their individual needs.
