Science and Nature Speaker Series Launched!

Mike Runtz, renowned naturalist and photographer, kicked off the Science and Nature Speaker Series on February 21, 2007 at the Cornwall Public Library with an informative photo-talk entitled, "Beaver Pond Ecology". A full house of enthusiasts enjoyed listening to Mr. Runtz's explanations of beavers, their behaviour, and their impact on the ecosystem.

Special guest Jim Brownell, MPP, gave opening remarks to launch the series, and Gerald Samson, from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, presented a plaque and sponsorship cheque to the River Institute and the Cornwall Public Library for the Speaker Series.
