Laboratory Services The River Institute laboratories are accredited by the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation Inc. (CALA) in accordance with the recognized International Standards ISO/EIC 17025:2005. To retain these designations, the staff must complete regular proficiency tests and audits to ensure accuracy and excellence in laboratory procedures and analysis. This means that the River Institute laboratory staff have the analytical and procedural competence for dealing with a wide variety of environmental samples for regulatory, research and monitoring purposes.
